Born into a family of motorcycle fenatics on the 16th of October 1985, Casey Stoner was a star in the making. The Stoner family packed up and moved Europe to help the young star chase his Grand Prix dream, Stoner contested in the national 125 championships in Britain and Spain in 2001 (16) and made his first GP appearance at Donington and Phillip Island , finishing 17th and 12th respectively.
In 2002 (17), he embarked on his first World Championship campaign in the 250cc class under the guidance of experienced veteran Lucio Ceccinello coming 12th in the championship with a best finish of 5th at Brno.
In 2003 (18) Casey moved down a class to the 125cc and took four podium finishes including his first win at Vaencia.
In 2004 (19) Stoner joined the Red Bull KTM team and took 5th, as well as the factory team's first GP win.
In 2005 (20) Casey was back in the 250cc class with the LCR team riding a factory Aprilia. With five wins he finished runner up to Dani Pedrosa.
2006 (21) saw Casey Stoner move to were he belonged the MotoGP as apart of the same LCR Honda team. He was off to a flying start on the 990cc bike with a pole in Qatar and a podium in Turkey that was so close to being a win. The rest of the season saw Casey crashing or just missing the podium.
2007 (22) Shapes up to being The biggest year to date for the young star, in pre season Cassey married girlfriend Adriana Tuchyna (19). 2007 See's MotoGP move to a smaller 800cc engine and Casey to the Ducati Marlboro Team. Casey Stoner went down in the history books as the first rider to win in the new 800cc era in the opening race at Qatar.
