Jon Oliver: "I am Jonathan Oliver, Editor-in-Chief of Abaddon Books and Graphic Novels editor at 2000 AD. I review books and short fiction for the BFS in my spare time and am an appallingly slow writer. Am currently working on something that may turn into a novel when I can pull my finger out. Influences include Ramsey Campbell, Viz, Lewis Carroll, Nick Cave, and Tom Waits. I also have a secret second-life as a gamer running and playing various RPGs including Call of Cthulhu, Dungeons and Dragons and Deadlands. Don’t tell anyone though or I’ll loose all my street cred. I am married and live in Oxfordshire with Ali, who – for some reason – loves my geeky ways."

David Allkins BA lives and works in Cornwall. Has had fiction published in Visionary Tongue and Dark Horizons and owns two cats.
Adam J. Shardlow is a writer for the popular BBC comedy quiz 'Call My Bluff'. A successful author of 'dark' fiction and freelance journalist, his work has been printed around the world including articles for The Guardian and The Idler. He divides his time between Italy, New Zealand and the UK. He is currently writing a novel, a concept for a television show and as many short stories as he can fit in. He is also looking for an ambitious agent. In his spare time (which he never has) he enjoys spending time with his invisible dog, Marlowe.
Matt Johns lives in West London. He cut his fantasy teeth on Piers Anthony, Isaac Asimov and Roald Dahl before making the obvious leap to Terry Pratchett, Alan Dean Foster, Terry Brooks and Robert Rankin. These days he enjoys reading anything and everything(ranging from Stephen King to Bill Bryson, Tom Holt and compendiums of useless facts and trivia) in between playing bass guitar with friends from work, running (He ran the London Marathon for the third time in 2007), climbing mountains (okay, only four, but still he did complete the Three Peaks Challenge!), brewing his own beer and growing fruit and veg in his garden, with which he concocts delicious meals for his wife and two kids.
M P Ericson has lived in Sweden, Trinidad, and Tanzania, but is now settled in Yorkshire. She holds a PhD in Philosophy, which means that the nihilistic mayhem of adventure fantasy is right up her street. Her short fiction has appeared in magazines such as Abyss & Apex and Clarkesworld, as well as the BFS's own Dark Horizons.
Anthony G Williams is a military technology consultant and author, and has also written a couple of novels: 'The Foresight War' (an alternate Second World War) and 'Scales' (an SF thriller set in the present day). He maintains a website at http://www.quarry.nildram.co.uk

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Jon: "Stephen King. Probably a bit of an obvious answer but he's been a huge inspiration on me through my formative years in the genre right through to my adulthood. When he is on form King is still one of the best genre writers in the world."
Steve: "David Gemmell. He is my favourite author and his works have been a great inspiration to my own writing. I was really saddened to hear of his death, it's a great loss to the world. Clive Sinclair. An absolute genius and a man well ahead of his time.Genghis Kahn. What tales he could tell, and I'd love to know how much of what's written in the history books is true. Deborah Harry of Blondie. The Queen."
MP Ericson: "Terry Pratchett. He's my hero."
David:"Clive Barker, Haruki Murakami or Siouxsie Sioux."
Karen: "From the world of fiction, I'd like to meet the Avengers (Steed and Mrs Peel) from the real world...um, bit more difficult, but at the risk of making myself unpopular I'll confess to having a soft spot for the Dick Dastardly of F1, Michael Schumacher; I'd quite like to meet him (apologies all you Damon Hill fans!)"
Ian: "Dead - Frank Zappa, Alive - Jimmy Connors"
Matt: Living: Stephen Hawking, as he is an amazing example to us all of what we can accomplish if we set our minds to it despite the cards that we are dealt. Non-living: Christopher Reeve – I loved him as Superman (still the best), and found his struggle to regain the use of his legs very inspiring. And, just in case you were wondering, no I don’t have a wheelchair fetish! Don’t get me started on who I’d most like to meet from the world of fiction though…
