About Me
Now-a-days, everyone with an Akai MPC thinks they are producers, but
do they really have an ear for music? There is a difference between
making beats and producing songs. Chas is one of the very few up & coming
super producers to make that difference obvious. From Hip Hop to R&B,
Chas can do it all.
From the mean streets of Flatbush, Brooklyn, Chas Edwards Jr has
absorbed music for over half of his life. Starting out on drums at the age
of 11, then moving on to the keyboards and bass guitar. His mother was
very strict and didn't allow him to do anything but stay home and
practice. As his skills advanced and high school years approached many bands
wanted him because of his musical ability. Whether he was being the
section leader or holding down the groove, this young producer has been a
musical leader for quite some time.
He has played and toured with various bands, groups, and choirs. In
the band “RPM†& “Caribean Nsyncâ€, Chas grooved calypso, soca,
and reggae beats. While playing with “The Clarence Carvin Orchestraâ€
he was able to show off a touch of his jazz skills. He also holds down
the groove for his church band, playing every style from hymns and
anthems, to r&b flavored grooves, and funk. Each of these groups has
allowed him to perform in major cities in the USA & Canada. Chas has also
performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. He’s no stranger to
television either, Chas has performed on major networks such as BET & The
Word Network.
As a producer, he’s worked with tons of independent and upcoming
artist, such as Barrington, AC Smith, and I. H. Entertainment. His song
writing abilities has gotten his songs placed on several tv stations
including: Trills TV, NY55, WRNN, and BCAT.
"Reaching for the stars" has always been his moto. There is much more
in store for and from Chas. With his high level of dedication and
determination, obstacles would not stop him from acheiveing greater success.
