English:TUNEFISCH -(CD release 2006: ICE ON THE LAKE) -Konstanz-based, consequently appearing on stage on either side of the Swiss-German border - in concert, at public and private functions, in Irish pubs and folk festivals.HISTORY:The origins of what was to become TUNEFISCH later can be traced back to October 1975 and a notice on a Konstanz university pin board where somebody was looking for musicians to play Irish and Scottish folk. Precious few recordings of this hardcore amateur project exist; they can make us blush even now and can only be appreciated with the help of several drams of whiskey; they also tell of the musical impact The Dubliners had on us at this early stage. this phase of romantic rebel songs and heroic ballads was overcome at last, and over the years something distinctly "tunefishy" emerged - the combination of animated and rich arrangements of traditional Irish tunes and songs with strong vocal harmonies.While two of the founding memebers are still with TUNEFISCH, the band has seen numerous of musicians with a variety of instruments come and go over the past 32 years; it has always been a live band preferring to play "unplugged", yet with audiences and halls becoming larger the need arose to enter the world of amps, speakers and micros - tampering with electronic equipment certainly adds to the excitement of doing a gig. ____________________________________________________________ ___ Deutsch:TUNEFISCHAnders als der vom Aussterben bedrohte Thunfisch ist TUNEFISCH (TUNE = Melodie) eine weiterhin quicklebendige Truppe, die ihr Herz bereits 1975 an die irische Musik verloren hat. Zwei der Gründungsmitglieder bilden bis heute den Kern einer Band, in der bereits Dutzende von Musiker/innen ihre Begeisterung für Irish Folk ausleben konnten. Wandlungsfähig wie die Besetzung sind die TUNEFISCHe in ihrer stilistischen Bandbreite und ihren Arrangements. Den derzeitigen Sound der Gruppe prägen insbesondere Instrumente wie die Uillean Pipes (irischer Dudelsack), das diatonische Akkordeon, Irish Flute und Whistles (diverse irische Flöten), Fiddle, Bodhrán (Handtrommel), Gitarre, E-Piano und die gefühlvollen und einprägsamen Stimmen der Sänger/innen Genau die richtige Besetzung für alle, die auf irische und schottische Musik stehen.
