Beauty surrounds us.

About Me

I still believe no set of words can ever fully explain a life. It seems that living itself becomes an experiment at defining what it is actually all about. My explanation comes out over cups of coffee, through the words I play with and in unplanned conversations . If you want to know, watch my attempts to figure it all out, I'm living and learning just like the next person.

My Interests

My main interests are tied together by the common thread of art; different forms, but a reaction of creativity regardless. I wield paintbrushes to computer mice to sharpie markers in my own pursuit of creation. Music, an audible artform, is another love. And the written word, art penned in black and white, is another thing I whittle away time upon. Besides those, there are lots of little things that just make my day a little bit better.

I'd like to meet:

Those who cross my path. Aren't they there for a reason sometimes?

Music:

A passion and a distraction. I have a constant soundtrack to my life. I like what I like, but I'll give things a chance because there's always something else out there.

Movies:

Not too into movies, but some I like: The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Phantom of the Opera (the most recent one is beautifully filmed), Pirates of the Caribbean, Toy Story 1 and 2, Lilo and Stitch, A League of Their Own, Amelie, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Grease, Matrix (the first one), RENT (because I like the play)

Television:

There is one around here somewhere. Not too much into tv.

Books:

Authors: Edgar Allen Poe, Alexander Dumas, C.S. Lewis, Ray BradburySpecifically: "The Count of Monte Cristo" and "The Three Musketeers" series by Alexander Dumas, "Lord of the Rings" trilogy by JRR Tolkein, "Farenheit 451" and "The Martian Chronicles" by Ray Bradbury, "1984" by George Orwell, "'Til We Have Faces," "The Chronicles of Narnia" and "Perelandra" by C.S. Lewis, "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley, "MC Escher, His Life and Complete Graphic Work," the "Spectrum" art series, and my Bible and that is all just a taste of what inhabits my bookshelves...

My Blog

Eight letters, arranged in meaningful order

Typically I try to ignore insipid pop music but the other day one line got into my head, I don't know who sang it or who wrote it (and don't want to really) but it said "Those three words are said too...

Jeans and a t-shirt

This thought has come up in my own mind and also in multiple unconnected conversations over the past few weeks. It's the idea of we appear to one another, the way that society tells us we should look,...

Rays

Sun was shedding its rays and reminding people that warmth exists in a break between rainy days. Just like rain, the sun can soak. Outside of a favorite coffee shop, a person sat this morning, ready t...

Movement

Change. That is what life has been lately and the process of learning how to live with it. The lighthearted version comes first, then the internal thoughts will seep out, choose which version you wish...

A tall tale

Once upon a time a seemingly random group of people came together in the name of fun. Some were friends and some were not, but now there's a bond because inside jokes were spawned. It was a typical ki...

Puddles

I was thinking about puddles the other day (maybe it's the amount of rain we've had lately?) Have you ever really looked closely at one? Most of them are by no means clean bodies of water. There is...
