Through networking and by word of mouth, the team started off strong with many young women interested in joining. Many of the potential members then attended UDA's dance camp over the summer of 2003, where they began a strong foundation of friendships, while also sharing their love for dance.
In the fall of 2003, the team finally became set with a total of 12 members, all who had different backgrounds in dance. With numerous hours of hard work and dedication the ladies were able to win their way into performing at women's basketball games and various on-campus events,(all while trying to find even the smallest practice space).
After building a strong foundation their first year as a team, the dance team decided to head back to their second year at UDA's dance camp in the summer of 2004. There they were now recognized as an established team and won their first ever trophy! Friendships became stronger within the team, as well as with many other college teams that attended the camp.
In the fall of 2004, the ladies set up an interest table where they had more people than ever interested in being a part of their team. Both male and female signed up to be contacted to gain more information. Days later, the team for 2004-2005 was formed with approximately 25 members (+1 male!).
Their second year as a team was even more successful than the first: more performances on-campus, performances at competitions, fundraisers, community service and then their first ever annual dance team show!
Since then the team has blossomed. Friendships have become even stronger, routines have become even sharper and dance has become even more than a passion.
