It's hard to say when SawdEye officially formed. Though some early, early recordings were knocked around in 2002, it was 2003 when a young E. Sawdey met up with the incredible Benjamin Durdle , forming the band The Interoffice Romance and later The Avenging Unicorns. As the IOR, the band put out a simple 3-song EP of their bent acoustic stylings (The Homesick EP), and it was there that it all began.
As the years went on, SawdEye began work on other projects, forming the ever-prolific Corresponding Handpieces with the incredible Dave Semonchik in 2005, the future never being the same. Mr. Sawdey began developing an addiction to both recording and producing, soon forming bands with reigonal notables like Andy Scott (a rap group reprising the Interoffice Romance moniker), Bill Mayeroff ( Three Car Garage ), and many more. Sawdey began producing outside acts as well, handling the debut EP of the incomprable Lisa Choi and remixing the debut release of What About Me.
To keep up with the frentic pace, Sawdey also launched (n)erotic Entertainment in 2005, a record label dedicated to properly releasing all of these songs in any/all available digital formats (all of which are available here ). Since its inception, (n)erotic has signed and released albums by acts like Liquid Toaster, Self-Induced Hysteria, The Sequel, Satan's Pocket, The Lovelys, and Electric Slinky, along with all the acts mentioned above. In 2007, it officially signed Ben Durdle to the label as a solo artist.Yet the first official SawdEye single came in late 2006, as the acoustic ballad "Needle and Thread" became a minor-key viral hit. Though various EPs emerged in its wake, SawdEye's first album, feed the little urchins, emerged in October of 2007, preceeded by the singles "That Was Monday" and "Everybody Knows That You're Falling Apart". SawdEye orchestrated the release of (n)erotic's holiday album in 2007, which featured two new SawdEye tracks. The single "Overdramatic" was released in January '08 in conjunction with a remix EP, featuring the reworkings of album tracks by Liquid Toaster's Will Cwik and the incredible Jay Hathaway.
In March of 2008, SawdEye did not relent, releasing his second album MAUZNER to much acclaim. Featuring more of a full-band feel than the largely-acoustic urchins, MAUZNER spawned the hits "Boxcutter" and "Displeasure!". The single-only song "Take the Drugs and Live Forever" was released preceeding the (REASSEMBLED SUCKER PUNCHES VOL. 3) compilation released in '08 as well. "Social Amenisa" was the final song to be released from MAUZNER, doubling over as a split-release with Satan's Pocket. That summer, SawdEye's remix of What About Me's "C U Again" received play on influential college station WVKC, and SawdEye (along with Corresponding Handpieces) had his name emblazoned on a mass-market T-shirt made for website Stereofame.com .
After a long period of silence, SawdEye re-emerged in late 2008 with a new album called The Soft Dive Into Oblivion. The lead single was the furious rock number "Unrequited".
