About Me

Twelve Thousand Days is the joint project of MARTYN BATES (Eyeless In Gaza) who has worked with such luminaries as Ann Clark, Mick Harris (Scorn) and Max Eastley to name but a few; and ALAN TRENCH (Orchis, Temple Music, Cunnan), founding director of the late lamented World Serpent Distribution (once the home to Nurse With Wound, Sol Invictus, Death In June, Coil, Terminal Cheesecake, Martyn Bates and Eyeless In Gaza, In Gowan Ring, Nature And Organisation, Current 93, Antony And The Johnsons, Shockheaded Peters, Danielle Dax, Dawn & Dusk Entwined, Sieben, Elijah's Mantle, Ozymandias, Ronan Quays etc etc - apologies to anyone not mentioned, no deliberate sleight intended). They first got together with the intention of recording some material for Orchis; decided it had a charachter all of it's own and released the first album, In The Garden Of Wild Stars via Italy's Musica Maxima Magnetica (thanks to Dario), followed by The Devil in the Grain on Trisol (thanks to Alex) and the At the Landgate ep and From The Walled Garden album via Shining Day (thanks to Marek). Twelve Thousand Days have an utterly unique sound; ethereal, otherworldly; beckoning silently from mists and pastures; and from silent uplands where kestrels hover and owls cry in the moonlight as they hunt through ruined stone walls and bats flit through sightless windows; in the blackgreen of the restless forest as the brook coils through the moss and ferns and the salamander sits heavy and waxen, entirely still but for the glittering eyes; as the midnight processional winds amidst the lichened boles... this is where Twelve Thousand Days has its being. Both Martyn and Alan have access to this page, so you can contact them here with offers of vast treasures and glistening praise...I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
