Nathan Fix, real name Nathan Neslany, was born in Ghent in 1989.
At the age of 6 he got his first piano and drums. His father taught him to appreciate jazz, pop and rock music, whereas his mother introduced him to lounge music. Hardly surprising, a few years later, Nathan was really “into musicâ€, especially lounge and jazz music.
In 2006 he got his first mix table. From that moment on, DJ Nathan Fix was born. He bought some other DJ equipment and started collecting vinyl records from inspiring artists. This led to him to produce some songs with his computer.
A few months later, Nathan Fix played for the very first time for an audience on a birthday party of a friend. The guests loved his performance and soon Nathan was playing regularly at other birthday and school parties.
During his training period in 2006 Nathan Fix worked at the Music Man store where he learned everything there is to know about music. About one year later, Nathan Fix started mixing songs on his second mix table, a Pioneer this time.
In 2007, Nathan Fix and Laurent Van Der Sluys, one of his best friends, developed their own party concept: True House Deluxe. The concept turned out to be a great success.
Since 2008, Nathan Fix has played at many locations in Ghent, such as Decadance, Culture club, Tijuana, Le Bleu, Mineral, Rector,… and many others.
2009
On Wednesdays, you can usually find Nathan Fix playing the better club music in Le Bleu (Overpoort).
His favourite music style is tech house, but he appreciates other styles as well. More specifically, Nathan Fix also loves lounge and jazz music.
On Fridays, he performs sometimes at Decadance, where he can play his favourite tracks! Playing in this club in Ghent enables him to fine-tune his own style.
During 2009 he did some gigs in the following clubs: Decadance, Culture club, Tijuana, Le Bleu, Point Final, Mineral and Rector. Furthermore, he performed at the following parties: l'Intimité (a party concept developed by his cousin Maxim Lany and Jamy Dice), Sunset, Bal Royal,…
Nathan Fix also shared the decks with Maxim Lany, Neon, Les Mecs, Gentil and Jamy Dice.
The next step in Nathan’s career is to professionalize his performance and the mixing of songs.
In order to gain some technical experience in producing, he starts the course "Electronic music production" in October 2009. This course takes place in the renowned SAE Institute (School of Audio Engineering) in Brussels. This school has divisions worldwide and collaborates closely with famous artists.
You will definitely hear more about Nathan Fix over the next months and years! Especially since “there is no problem that he can fix because Nathan can do it in the mix!â€
