John the Savage

About Me

"Dark-yet-uplifting atmosphere and intensity" - Tord Gustavsen (ECM)... "Marvellous. Beautiful compositions that breathe in and out with understanding" - Billy Jenkins (Babel)...John The Savage are a motley crew (not Crüe) who play cinematic instrumental music, influenced by everyone from EST and Yann Tierson to Godspeed You Black Emperor and Robert Fripp. We have shared stages with Led Bib, Neil Cowley Trio and Polar Bear, as well as indie eccentrics Wild Beasts, post-rock duo Reigns and disco/prog/metal behemoth Chrome Hoof. Our monthly Club Savage residency has hosted performances from the likes of Crackle, Bela Emerson, Jacob's Stories and A Scandal In Bohemia but is currently on hiatus while we record our debut album.
