Katharine Blake and Clifford Slapper

Katharine Blake and Clifford Slapper began making music together in 2003. Initially their plan was to seek gainful employment as a jazz duo, but soon realised it would be much more fun to host and perform at their own cabaret club. Slappers Club was born in November 2003 and boasted an extraordinary array of talent as well as being a fabulous night out.

They continued to run this night together, first in Fitzrovia then at Turnmills, Farringdon for over two years, after which time Clifford took sole responsibility for the club, taking it to Soho, where it continues now monthly at the Arts Club.

Plans are afoot to record more material and sift through hours of live performances for your listening pleasure…
