Slippery Fish

About Me

The Fish are a Blues and R&B covers band who can go from laid back to out and out rockin' in the blink of an eye....full on guitars from Gaz, Ged and sometimes Kev, Mr Clint Dando on bass and occassional Telecaster, bringing up the rear it's Ju on drums ("have you finished building that shed yet?") and not forgetting Rach on her big whistle....that's sax before you ask......
A full history of Slippery Fish would probably eat up all MySpace's bandwidth...Suffice it to say there have been multiple line up changes and it was almost like a revolving door for the first few years....two stalwarts remain from the original line up (stand up and take a bow Kev and Ju) and the rest of us joined over the last couple of years with Ged the last piece of the jigsaw.....
Finally things seem to have stabilised with the current line up, and the band's music seems to have found a place that we all agree on. That is, loud and bluesy with a bit of a hard edge in all the right places. Songs you know, songs you'd forgotten you knew, and some you didn't know but somehow they sound familiar. Blues and R&B underpin everything and also gives us a wide scope for the future - the list of stuff yet to cover is endless and the source of countless discussions.
Hopefully no two Fish shows will ever have the same set list - but the core favourites will continue until we (or you!) have enough......
Lastly the unofficial seventh member is the Griffin Public House in Frome - without whom none of this would be possible.....and even if it was it wouldn't be half as much fun.....

Sounds Like: Guitar based (but with a mean sax as well) rocking Blues and R&B covers with a few classic rock numbers thrown into the mix. Think of bits of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, ZZ Top and you'll get the general idea.....
