In a year 1996 De -Rankies started composing their own song and started to perform on platform along side some Ghanaian prominent stars like Reggie Rock Stone (the god-father of Hip-life), Tic - tac, Chicago, Exdoe, V.I.P. (the Coral Award Winners of the Best African Hip-Hop Gruop) and the others.Subsquently, De-Rankies decided to make a trip to Nigeria in 1999 where they could pursue their music carrer professionally. In a year 2000 De-Rankies did their best possible to releas a single track by the title 'BORN TO SURVIVE' which made an impact in Nigerian music scene; and that had giving the duo an opportunity to play along side some of the finest music stars in Nigeria - the like of Kingmono, Daddy Shorky, Baba Frayo, Cash Man Davis, Plantation Boys, Gold Man, etc.Later on in 2003 the duo decided to return to Ghana for a promotion; but, unfortunately, the environment then in Ghana was not favourable. In other words, Hip-Life then had taking over the music scene and that made the situation unfavourable for their growth as up-coming Reggae, Ragga and Africa Music stars.Nonetheless, they manage to fit within the then Music scene dominated by Hip-life to record an album by a title 'MATTAN AOURE' with the help of V.I.P. and a very good friend of them called Hashim. Also, some of this tracks were featured by some artist like Lil Kriz (a promising Hip-hop star in Ghana), V.I.P.and Okra Kesie.
In a year 2004, the album came out and made a very big impact.
Meanwhile, in the year 2006, a man, whom he later introduced De-Rankies to a friend who happened to be a producer, invited them for a music concert in Nigeria. This very generouse man listen to their music and got intrested, eventually, he took the duo to studio for a new project.And by the Grace of The Almighty, The project went successifully and an album was out in Nigeria and it is getting a massive responce from the music lovers. The album title is 'IKEBE'.Currently, we are working on our new coming album, and some of the hits will be available exclusive on Myspace for the pleasure of our fans.... stay tuned!
