About Me

Award-winning artist Roberta Aviram is a native New Yorker with a passion for color. Her current focus is painting oversized florals with a contemporary edge and large ethereal abstracts in oils and acrylic.

Many years spent as a watercolorist have sharpened the skills of this painter who combines strong color sense, attention to detail, spatial design and emphasis on light to create truly distinctive paintings for the modern collector.

Roberta holds both BA and MA degrees in Fine Art and Art Education with Secondary Art teaching certification. She is currently a member of the American Artists' Professional League and was recently accepted into the renowned National Association of Women Artists, both based in NYC.

Her most recent accomplishments include acceptance into the prestigious 57th Annual Art of the Northeast exhibition at the Silvermine Guild Arts Center in Silvermine, Connecticut. One of her works was chosen for this nine-state juried competition from 2000 entries and was included in a subsequent review in the Connecticut Post.

A 2006 participating artist in the Kiwanis International Action Doll Project, Ms. Aviram was honored to donate a painting for publication to benefit such a humanitarian non-profit organization for children.

Just recently Oprah Winfrey's Designer Elaine Griffin selected and photographed two Aviram abstracts for an issue of O at Home magazine. In addition, her watercolors have been featured in Art Business News and quite favorably reviewed in Newsday by NY art critics. Recent press includes a featured watercolor of the Ponte Vecchio in the Fall/Winter 2008 issue of Town and Country Weddings.

Vibrant color and linear clarity are the trademarks of this contemporary painter whose work is included in numerous national and international private collections. Her paintings have been exhibited in solo and juried shows as well as museums and galleries throughout the New York metropolitan area.

Blank Canvas and Sounds of Silence

What is it about the arts that fills up that void in your spirit? What if all canvases were blank and there was no music to fill in that emptiness of unheard sounds? After the song dies, what is left ...

I don't know if that is the right term for this but I guess it explains some of it. One painting is not progressing, another two are just not good enough and I'm not feeling it. What do you do? Can yo...
