CHERRY BOMB is a Concept, a Party, a Vibe. It’s Toronto's hottest and best-loved monthly women’s/queer party (voted "Best Club Event for Women" in Xtra magazine’s Best of Toronto 2007).
CHERRY BOMB is also the dynamic promotional force and dyke DJ dream team of COZMIC CAT and DENISE BENSON, two red-hot party-rockers with decades of experience on the decks between them. The duo brings their talents to the tables and are notorious for dropping diverse, high-voltage sets of house, electro, tech and other dancefloor burners all mixed, mashed and played with love. The CHERRY BOMB DJs and co-founders are two women as passionate about music as they are about enjoying life.
DJ, radio host and journalist DENISE BENSON believes in spinning edgy, sexy sounds and loves to share the pleasure. She’s been dropping electrosexual beats, pieces and ideas since ‘87, including at celebrated club residencies like Dyke Nite, S.H.E., Bent, Glide, Savour, Synchro and, of course, CHERRY BOMB. She’s often been voted Toronto’s Top DJ, in reader’s polls printed in both Eye Weekly and NOW Magazine.
COZMIC CAT lived in Philadelphia for 10 years and was voted the city’s favourite party rockin’ DJ many times over. Also a talented remixer and producer, Cozmic knows how to read and reach any crowd, dropping a tight, high energy mashup mix that works any crowd up-and-over the top. In short, she drops the bomb on the dancefloor every time!
Together, DENISE and COZMIC are an unstoppable and unique queer DJ team who love nothing more than to rock the house and throw a great party. The sold-out and wildly successfull monthly CHERRY BOMB parties inspired the two to begin taking the show on the road, and after successfull Canadian Shows, CHERRY BOMB is open to US and West Coast tour dates.
