About Me
I'm just an average guy trying to have fun and fly right. I'm a woodworker at heart, I've been sanding/installing hardwood floors for over 15 years now. I've worked on, and run some of the most exclusive flooring projects in the state. Many of our clients are very wealthy and/or well known people, this gives me the opportunity to try many new flooring products, an abundance of different wood species, and endless amount of flooring patterns, and custom installations. This is the reason I'm still flooring today(It sure isn't for the bad back and knees).
When work is done, I move to my next hobby...Whidmere Hefeweisen!(Man, I love that beer) I love to try new beers. Lucky for me, my wife is a bit of a beer snob as well. We have tried beer from all over the world. My absolute favorite beer is 1 part Whidmere Hef. & 1 part Moose Drool. (Try it, you'll like it)
I'm married to a wonderful, gorgeous, amazing woman who has given me the greatest gift ever...our daughter Emma. Steph and I have been together 10 years now (who'da thunk it). I think we just figured out that life is just a cycle. Every time things are going great, we take notice and appreciate it because we know a $h*t$t@rm is just around the corner. When things get rough, we are there to remind each other to keep looking for that light at the end of the tunnel and that seems to keep us going until things get right side up again. Kind'a simple, but it works for us.
I really enjoy being a father. I have to admit I've taken lead from my "wonder-wife" on most of this parenting stuff. I didn't bring any amazing parenting tips to this relationship. I didn't really have many examples of good parenting skills as a kid. Luckily Steph was there to hold my hand. I really try to do my best at being the best dad I can be. I have to admit, it takes a lot of PATIENCE to be a parent. This is not a charachteristic I'm used to. But as time goes by this too becomes easier. My good fortune is that Emma is a great kid. She's smart(understood letters and numbers at a very earl age), talented(singer, artist), helpful(cleans her own messes, and cleans her own room), she's independent and loving and just an all around awesome kid.
I love to travel. I've been all over the place(England, Scotland, Ireland, Canada, The Netherlands, Mexico, Whales, Newfoundland, France, Italy & Germany). I love to experience new cultures, new food, new art and architecture. My ultimate dream would be to move to Amsterdam, or somewhere in Tuscany to raise a family and work as a carpenter. We all gotta have a dream, and this one is mine. (Who knows?)
Well that's just a bit about me. It seemed like more of a journal entry though. I'm going to have to stop using the computer when I've had this many beers.
