kat is me. next stop is my full length album, recorded with friend and keyboard wiz Daniel Fridell in his studio in copenhagen. we had a lot of fun making it. it's called 'fall down' and it's going to be out in scandinavia on november 10th.
we recorded it over quite a bit of time, while falling in love with sounds from beautiful keyboards, ugly keyboards, old bass guitars and whatever else was sitting around the room and in the computer.

in june this year my EP 'i'm in a polaroid - where are you?' was released. making that i took my laptop, pushed the on-button and made noise. i started recording it in the fall 2007 in new york city and north of it in the beautiful catskill mountains, where i was recording on my own in this abandoned barn that was once a night club. now it's slowly falling apart. around there, there's also a fantastic organ: when you switch it on it sounds like a ferry slowly sailing far away in the distance. when not in the mountains i worked on the music in my living space or while touring. then in frosty january i took it back to new york to finish recording it where i started it. afterwards Valgeir Sigurdsson mixed it and that's that! buy it in shops or on itunes. you can get it on vinyl too!

BESIDES CALLmeKAT:
besides my own projects i've been contributing to others' too. last fall i was featured on Nouvelle Vague producer Marc Collin's 'Two for the Road'. this fall i'm on his album 'Hollywood Mon Amour' along with some great people: Skye, Juliette Lewis and others. also this fall i'm very happy to share another boat with a lot of lovely artists (Bat For Lashes, Blonde Redhead, etc.) for a tribute album to The Cure called 'Perfect As Cats - A Tribute To The Cure' that'll be out on Manimal Vinyl (US) on october 28th.
