"Well, you know when you're holding a hot cup of coffee and you realize you're going to sneeze? That's how I feel."
My name is Margherita and I'm almost 24 y.o.. I live in Bologna (Italy) and I have just graduated at the University of Foreign Languages and Literatures. I'll be studying Journalism in Parma for the next two years. Once I finish my "studying journey" I would like to go and live in London for a period. I love listening but, most of all, I love learning...I am always learning something...Right now I am trying to study photography and, one day, I'd like to work as a photojournalist. I love writing and I adore cinema: I'm addicted to movies, of all kinds, and, as soon as a new one opens at the theatres, I go to see it. I like collecting actors and actresses' autographs and I'm attending a dubbing course at the Accademia Nazionale di Arti Cinematografiche of Bologna. I love reading and listening to music. I adore English and I usually watch everything I can in original language. I studied French and Spanish, I even tried some Japanese...but it's really not for me! I travel as much as I can, especially with my parents: we've been to Cuba, Ecuador, Galapagos Islands and other countries around Europe. I like loyal people who try their best to be there when you need them most. I haven't found many so far. I love kind, funny and generous people. Of these too I haven't found many. My main fault is that I dream too much. Or, maybe, that I don't do it enough. But we can't be perfect, can we?
Hi! I went to Venice last month for the film festival and I got home with some pretty good photos! enjoy!
I went to the concerts of two Italian artists last month: Gianna Nannini and Antonello Venditti. The former's one was really brilliant and I was able to shoot some great photos at the event. Here they are...
My father's old driving licence...
Here are some photos of skies that I shot over the years - Some were taken in Italy and some others on the planes that were taking me abroad. I tried to capture the idea of freedom and capriciousness that the skies have at different moments of the day.
Hello again! Elena and I graduated few days ago and we decided to have a small "lunch-session" on sunday, to enjoy some good "crescentine col prosciutto" - which you have to try if you ever come to Italy -, the company of a few but great friends and a sunny, sunny afternoon...
Hi everybody! As I had planned, last month I went went to the Rome Film Fest and had a really great time! Thanks to my dubbing course I was able to get an accreditation and this allowed me to enter the press conferences and sit just a few metres from monsters like Francis Ford Coppola, Robert Redford, Tom Cruise, Jane Fonda and many many others!! If you are cinema lovers, i really think you can't miss the Rome Film Fest! The difference between Rome and Venice is that Rome is more "for the people", as Coppola said. It is very laid back and interesting. The movies I was able to see were amazing. My favourite one was Sidney Lumet's Before the devil knows you're dead, with a great Philip Seymour Hoffman and a fantastic Ethan Hawke! Being able to follow all the press conferences was a surprising opportunity and I was so captured by what I heard and saw! Here are some photos I shot at the event!
I came back some weeks ago from Santo Domingo. It was an unforgettable experience. It's been a great chance to know other cultures and ideas. I'm going to post soon some photos of my trip and also the ones of my weekend at the Venice Film Festival of this year, where I saw so many celebrities! Enjoy!
...MIS VACACIONES EN LA REPùBLICA DOMINICANA...
VENICE 2007
BEFORE HER EYES WAS THE VIOLENT BLUE SKY -- NOTHING ELSE. FOR AN ENDLESS MOMENT SHE LOOKED INTO IT. LIKE A GREAT OVERPOWERING SOUND IT DESTROYED EVERYTHING IN HER MIND, PARALYSED HER. SOMEONE ONCE HAD SAID TO HER THAT THE SKY HIDES THE NIGHT BEHIND IT, SHELTERS THE PERSON BENEATH FROM THE HORROR THAT LIES ABOVE. UNBLINKING, SHE FIXED THE SOLID EMPTINESS, AND THE ANGUISH BEGAN TO MOVE IN HER. AT ANY MOMENT THE RIP CAN OCCUR, THE EDGES FLY BACK, AND THE GIANT MAW WILL BE REVEALED. (From THE SHELTERING SKY by Paul Bowles)
These are my photos, the way I see the world:
