Richard Perso is a 17 year old singer songwriter from North-East Victoria. He has been playing the guitar for just over two and a half years. He started singing at the start of 2006 and was into country music artists like John Williamson. In march 2006 at the Yackandandah Folk Festival he discovered open tuning thanks to the sensational Tom Richardson. He began to play Ash Grunwald songs. Discovering a true love for slide guitar, Richad searched deeper and deeper into the wonders of open tuning and found the John Butler Trio. After many hours of busking on the streets of local towns and begging his parents, Richard recieved a Maton 12-string guitar for his 15th birthday and became very passionate about his music. He has since started to write songs about love, life and his own faults. Sitting on a stomp-box with a drum pedal beating the box under his left foot and a tambourine under his right, Richard belts out tunes from a wide range of artists from the newly found rock band,Wolfmother, to the mesmorizing tunes of the John Butler Tio.
Richard would like to send out a few thank you's. To my beautiful girlfriend, Claire. ♥You give me such a wonderful feeling and I just can't stop thinking of how much you mean to me. Every time I'm on stage I'm doing it for you. Thank you for all your support and love. I love you.
My manager and father, Chris Smith. Without you none of this would ever have happened. You bought ALL of my gear and booked all my gigs to present. You are keeping this show on the road and the dream alive. Thnak you. Mum, sometimes we could tear each other apart but I know that you only tell me off because you care. Thanks for keeping me on my toes and getting me to practice. Mum and Dad, I love you both to death. All my friends and family. Thank you for believing in me.
