About Me

Mandala Bob had a background working in western psychiatry, with an interest in Art Therapy, before moving to India for several years to further his studies in meditation and Karma Yoga. This led to him living with the Sadhus of northern India, studying meditation, yoga & symbology, and it nurtured his fascination with the creation and use of Mandalas. They combine physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects to them, and can be used both as decorative or functional artworks.Using handpainted details by the artist Philip Shadbolt, and photographic collage with a digital twist, each of these mandalas are unique, and will resonate on different levels for different people, to energise and enrich your minds and living spaces.... “Focus on the center, and allow yourself to be drawn in” ...
The word Mandala is from the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit, and in its simplest translation means Circle, although this is far from just a simple shape. Used in India and Tibet as an aid to meditation, and focusing the power of the mind, it represents wholeness, and can be seen as embodying the structure of life itself ... a cosmic diagram that reminds us of our relation to the infinite wonders, the world that extends both beyond and within our bodies and minds ...
By stilling, and focusing our physical eyes on the centre of the Mandala, with time, patience, and practise, we learn how to focus and still our minds from the everyday clutter of thoughts in our head that constantly seek our attention.
"FOCUS ON THE CENTER, AND ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE DRAWN IN ... "

“The divine power, Kundalini, shines like the stem of a young lotus; Like a snake, coiled round herself, she holds her tail in her mouth, and lies resting half asleep at the base of the body.” (Upanishads)
