Abusive men generally target women who have either grown up in an abusive home as a child and/or women who have previously been in an abusive relationship. These women are easy prey.
The men that target these women target them because they think they can get away with hurting women who have already taken abuse. Stop taking the abuse, women! Stop the cycle of abuse! DON'T FEED THE HUNGRY WOLF!
Get away from the abuse. Call the cops to chain him up. Do what you have to do. Get out of the abuse before it's too late for you or your children (if you have children). Please, especially get out of the abuse if there are children involved. They do not deserve that. They need to enjoy childhood and be happy. Let them have a chance to grow up happy!

Abusive men see themselves as the victims of women that misbehave. They blame the woman by accusing the woman of pushing them over the edge by making them lose their temper so badly that they want to be physically violent with the woman. NO MAN HAS THE RIGHT TO HIT A WOMAN. IF A WOMAN HITS A MAN FIRST (IF SHE STRIKES FIRST), THE MAN SHOULD LEAVE THE SITUATION AND CALL THE COPS. If the man is so angry that he wants to hit the woman, he needs to leave the woman instead of hitting her! He needs to get out of the relationship and/or the situation. If he feels the same way about other women in future relationships, he is a habitual abuser and should seek psychological help and by all means HE SHOULD NOT PUT ANY MORE PEOPLE IN DANGER, NOT WOMEN, AND ESPECIALLY NOT CHILDREN!!!
Refer to Tyra Banks' show on abusive Teen relationships. It spoke about how to spot abuse in outsiders, how to predict if someone is likely to be abusive, how abusive men can actually change (they have to admit that they are abusive and seek professional help, but it is possible for people to change). But my advice to you is: If you are a victim of violence, get away from the abuser FOREVER! Do not turn around! Do not go back! Do not give them another chance! If you forgive an abuser, the odds are that they will continue abusing you until someone either ends up killed or locked away in prison or both... If you want to risk the professional help thing, go ahead. But me being a victim of abuse, and my daughter having to witness it and repeatedly saved me from her father from killing me, I will not give anyone another chance. You screw up with me, you are history! I don't want to know you if you don't have the decency to respect that a woman is weaker than a man and if you are so angry you want to hit her, you don't have the decency to just get out of her house or out of her life. Just leave her alone! Go away. Don't continue the abuse!

I am self-absorbed, stubborn, determined to get what I want, and if someone interrupts me while I'm working on a book, I am bitchy. On the other hand, I am loyal, dedicated, and willing to wait for a good thing even if I have to endure hardships to get to the good part. I think like a psychologist and overanalyze everyone from a psychological, astrological, and dream interpretive point of view (if the person tells me their dreams). I hate liars and people who lie to themselves. Sometimes I'm conceited. Sometimes I think I'm a complete freak and have low self-esteem. I don't trust men unless they are only my friend. I was married to an abusive drug addict/drug dealer with ego problems (he was such a scrawny shit- compared to other men- that he couldn't beat up another man so he decided to beat on me) and that has a lot to do with my fear of men. My daughter witnessed all of his abuse and so she worries about him hurting us again and also does not trust males. I did not mean for any of that to happen. I wanted a peaceful, happy family. But all that man wanted was to party, get high, cheat on me, and hit me. So pardon me if I show absolute disgust towards men. I do not mean to assume that all men will hurt me the way he hurt me. I am just afraid to trust anyone again. I have learned to value mine and my daughter's lives over the value of a relationship with a man. I will never put up with anything like I went through again, even if it means that I end up being an old spinster cat-lady, someday.
The most important thing to me is being a mother. The next most important thing is my writing and my artistic self-expression, next to being a gypsy. Then, it is my dream life with the perfect family life in my dream house. And after that, it would be nice if I was a rich and famous world-wide known writer, and I was healthy and happy enough to lavish in all of the riches that life has to offer me.
Don't put your kids through hell just because you are immature and don't know how to be a family!
