About Me

Back in 2001, I had just moved to Denver from the mountain town of Breckenridge, CO. where I spent about 6 years playing in the hills. Still adjusting to the culture shock of moving from a mountain community to the urban sprawl of Denver, I found solace in music. I began songwriting and spent lots of time with my acoustic guitar. A year or so before, I had made a "pilgrimage" to Led Zeppelin country and found myself inspired by some of the same mystical places in the U.K. that fueled Jimmy and Robert's creative juices. When I returned to the States, I searched for bands that were looking for lead guitarists and landed a few gigs that were essential in building my experience and style. I played everything from blues, to jazz, to classic rock, and metal. It was like college all over again as I learned and practiced these fundamentals.
One Saturday, I was riding my motorcycle and I stumbled upon a street fair up in the Denver highlands area. I wandered through the crowd on this beautiful day soaking in the sights and sounds. On a hilltop at the end of the fair on a small stage I came across a singer/ guitarist named Dan Allen. He was playing some popular cover songs as well as a few well chosen old standards before getting into some of his own unique material. He had a captivating sound that I really connected with, that ranged from light and airy to dark and mysterious. I sat down and was easily drawn in for his whole set. After the show, I gave my compliments then we relaxed and talked for a while over a beer about music. We exchanged phone numbers and a songwriting duo was soon formed.
Our activity has ranged from home studio acoustic sessions to a full five-piece band as well as some great live shows. We keep pretty busy with other things these days, but with a phone call we graciously pick up where we left off without missing a beat. On this page, you'll find a posting of various recordings of our past (when my 4-track closet studio ruled the world) to present and future as we continue where we started...
