My name is Mikael Christensen and I'm a 22 year old Danish lute player. I have finished a Bachelor with classical guitar at The Carl Nielsen Academy of Music in Odense, Denmark.
Now I only play the lute.
I'm here to extend my network with the early music and avant-garde music people. If everything goes well I'll soon be living in Basel, Switzerland, studying early music at the Scola cantorum Basiliensis. At the moment I live in Helsinki, Finland.
My interests in periods at the moment are especially the early renaissance, mostly Francesco da Milano. He is definately a lute composer who needs more attention. Well, he doesn't need it, we do.
Besides my solo projects I have played a lot of basso continuo in several productions like Monteverdi, Vespro della beata vergine, Bach st. Matthew Passion and Händel, Cantatas.
