Patty Booker brings the whole litany of life experiences to bear on this
latest release. You may not know who Patty Booker is, and she admits,
“Sometimes I don’t even know.†Patty has lived life to its fullest – she has
been wife, mother, daughter, sister, singer, songwriter, healer, blue collar
worker, friend, lover and a lot more. Patty was raised by parents who came
to California from Oklahoma before she or any of her nine siblings were
born. Patty is the second child of ten, the mother of three and grandmother
of three. Patty started singing professionally in the mid-1980’s,
when she joined a band with steel guitar player Gary Brandin of The Blue
Hawaiians. In early 1992, she recorded “99†for the Town South of Bakersfield,
Volume 3 compilation album. She then took a break to finish raising
her children and returned to the music scene in 1999 with her first full
blown CD, I Don’t Need All That, produced by Nashville singer/songwriter
Jann Browne & her partner Matt Barnes. The release of that CD launched
Patty full on into the music world where she has performed in Europe,
Iceland and the Caribbean. Patty’s continuous airplay on XM radio and
many other stations across this country and Europe are testament to her
talent.Los Angeles Times Orange

5 - Patty Booker, I Don't Need All
That (PMS Records) The first CD by
this veteran country singer has all
the traditional virtues: honesty,
humor, heart-piercing feeling.
Booker, with the writing, playing and
production help from some of
Southern California's twang-music
elite, splendidly fills the part of a
woman vulnerable enough to be
hurt, but tough enough not to be a
doormat.
Mike BoehmFollowing up on I Don’t Need All That, Patty and singer/songwriter Rick
Shea, former guitarist for Dave Alvin, released a CD of heart wrenching
country duets called Our Shangri-LA on the Tres Pescadores label in 2003.
Rick and Patty toured up and down the coast and across the United States
playing songs from Our Shangri-LA, along with their favorite traditional
country tunes.L.A Weekly
Our Shangri-LA, the new album of
duets from veteran Southern California
country singers Rick Shea and
Patty Booker not only exemplifies
the West Coast's once vibrant
honky-tonk tradition, it damn well
resurrects it...a complex and rewarding
series of emotional and psychological
statements - not to mention
more than a few moments of smoldering
erotic tension.
Jonny WhitesideNow, two years after Our Shangri-LA, Tres Pescadores has once again
teamed with Patty to put together a new solo work, Fire & Brimstone. This
CD is packed with seething, soulful, and raw country feeling. It was
produced by Wyman Reese, a former member of Chris Gaffney’s Cold Hard
Facts Band,, Walter Clevenger of The Dairy Kings and Patty. This collection
also features some of Southern California’s finest musicians, including
Danny Ott, Bob Gothar, Shawn Nourse, Candy Lerman-Girard, Steve
Bancroft, Lisa Finnie, Lori Jo DeWitt, Henry Clift, Dave Pearlman, Jay Dee
Maness, Matt Barnes and Jann Browne with Walter and Wyman filling out
the sound on a variety of instruments.
The times they do keep changing and so does the world for Patty Booker.
Patty is truly an indigo child and sees the world as her playground. Patty
feels she has lived a full and wonderful life, in spite of all the hard knocks
and heartaches. The one thing she has been able to hold onto and trust
through it all is the music inside of her honky-tonk heart. To share it with
you now through her songs gives her life a greater meaning. It’s not a fad
or a phase and it will not go away with age. You can trust that Patty will be
singing until all the lights go out. If you like true country and real grit, you
don’t want to miss Fire & Brimstone.Tres Pescadores Records
