Ben Smith is a singer, mentor, preacher, and educator. Ben was born in Pahokee, Flordia. After he completed high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served two years. Ben later worked for the Americorps program, which was enacted by President Bill Clinton. After working in the Americorps program for two years, Mr. Smith matriculated through Bethune-Cookman College where he studied with world renown singer and teacher Mr. Curtis Rayam. He recieved his B.A. Degree in Music Performance. He continued his education at the University of Florida and there he studied with grammy nominated Dr. Elizabeth Graham. In 2002 he recieved his Masters Degree in Music Performance. Currently he is in completion of his Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from NSU. Ben Smith is passionate about music and his noted performances are too numeral to record. He is known for the clarity of his voice and boast of a 4 1/2 ocatave range. Ben is also known as one of the most versatile singers in this day and time. Ben takes a no-compropromise stand in his beliefs concerning the gospel of the preached and musical word. He is also known for his sensitivity in worship.He has the ability to shift any atmosphere into a environment of worship.It is as if God Himself comes and sits at the attention of the worship that is offered. Ben was recently invited to sit on the Board of the Dekalb County Juvenile Justice System. Mr. Smith mentors several students every year, and he is known to many of them as a father, friend, and spiritual leader.
