About Me

* He was 7 years old when he first took drum lessons.* His first studio experience was to record classical drums in Bauer Studios, Stuttgart at the age of 17. * Martin was one of the first drummers to take part in the Swiss Army. The Army had upto this point concentrated on brass instrumentation. Various international concerts followed. * Martin studied drums as pupil to Martin A. Grütter in Basel and passed both Goldenberg Snare Drum exams within the first year. * Robert Cunningham became one of Martin..s most influential teachers, studying at the Jazz School in Bern. * Martin assembled his own garage studio at his grandparents house and began producing national and international artists. * On seeing that he needed to expand his small business, and offer clients more space and comfort, Martin became house technician and studio drummer at Greenwod Studios in Nunningen. * T.V Appearances followed as drummer to members of 10cc and Mike Oldfield..s band, as well as single and cd productions. * Martin began writing and composing his own songs, as well as teaching himself to play piano and read music. One song in particular was sent to Whitney Houston in the U.S., only to be rejected at the final hurdleover other material. Although a disappointment, it gave Martin the confidence to to carry on writing more songs. * In 1998 Martin was asked to sit in as house technician for a Tina Turner session recorded at Greenwood Studios, for the Disney project Lion King II * Martin meets up with legend drummer Vinnie Colauita and signs the ..Bible for the drums.. namely Basic Beginners. * In 1993 Martin opens his first drum school and begins scouting for local talent throughout Switzerland. * In 2001 he moves to Lausen, Baselland and completes the opening of his first drum shop. * Sales contracts followed, through Yamaha and eventually Pearl ( autumn of 2006 ) * Martin Isenegger has worked with the following performers: Andrew Ridgely ( Wham ) Rick Fenn ( 10CC and Mike Oldfield ) ex-world champion Xylophone player Ralph Heid, Peggy March, Bo Katzman, Sina, Swissfolk singer Leonhard, Caren Wainwright and Andy the Candy. * Since the summer of 2005 , Martin has had the opportunity in travelling to the U.S. to meet top session drummer Dave Weckl. Dave was an inspiration to Martin, working together with him and giving him tips and tricks on becoming an accomplished performer. *2007 continues to be an exciting time for Martin, practicing with his own band and organising the first shows for the autumn.
