Ruby Bradshaw Carr, 95, cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother was called home February 20, 2006, to be with the Lord.She was the widow of John Edward Carr and was the daughter of the late John Ernest and Annie Bland Bradshaw. She was born in Isle of Wight County on November 14, 1910.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Hazel C. Bailey and a grandson, James D. Bailey Jr., and by her brothers and sisters, Ernest L. Bradshaw, James M. Bradshaw Sr., Verna B. Carr, Margaret B. Drake and Lois B. Carr.Survivors include two sons, John R. (Snapper) Pugh and Charles L. Carr Sr. and a daughter, Becky C. Pippin, all of Suffolk.Left to cherish her memory are grandchildren, Alan and Alison Pugh, Sue C. Copeland and Linda C. Adams, Charles L. Carr Jr., James E. Carr Sr., Johnnie W. Bailey and Judy B. Brame, Jason and Jonathan Pippin, 16 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Mary E. Carr, William R. Bradshaw, Louise B. Pope, Joseph A. Bradshaw and John L. Bradshaw.The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 11 a.m. in the Sidney F. Harrell Chapel of Harrell and Hill Funeral Home by Dr. John R. Kimball. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.Friends may join the family at the funeral home this evening (Tuesday) from 7 to 8 p.m. at the home of Becky and Billy Pippin, 3208 Archers Mill Road, Suffolk, at other times.
