I am proud to tell you that I am now selling my own version of the traditional drop-shaped innu dream catcher, right here on my page. Each of them are handmade by me, following the innu tradition, made out of natural wood, feathers and lace. They are of course, all unique, so shape and form of web may vary a lot. I do make different size, from around 6'' to 12'' (wooden frame size, from top to bottom). I also make round 2 1/2'' ones, made out of metal rings but natural lace and feathers. The big ones are perfect to decorate a bedroom while the small round ones make cool in your car.
I am more than open to make custom ones that will fit with your decoration or your tastes. I have a wide variety of feathers and beads. Hit me up for infos :) And check out my blog of course.
A dreamcatcher is an amerindian craft object made to chase away nightmares and bad dreams. According to the innu legend, during night, dreams like to come play with the pearl(s) in the middle of the web. At sun rise, good dreams, wiser than bad ones, move in the feathers, to hide from the sun. When the first sun rays pierce through the window, bad dreams are burned on the web, while good dreams are saved. Which is why it's said to be more efficient if you place it where the morning light can touch it directly.

Je suis fière de vous annoncer que je vais vendre ma propre version des capteurs de rêves innus traditionnels en forme de goutte, ici sur ma page. Je fait chacun d'eux à la main, suivant la tradition innue, avec du bois, des plumes et des lacets de cuir naturel. Ils sont bien entendu tous uniques, donc les formes du tissage et du cadre peuvent beaucoup varier. Je peux faire différentes tailles, soit environ 6'' à 12'' (soit la taille du cadre de bois, de haut en bas). Je fais aussi de petits capteurs circulaires de 2 1/2'', faits avec des anneaux de métal, mais des lacets et des plumes naturelles. Les plus gros sont parfaits pour décorer une chambre, quant aux petits, ils sont idéaux pour votre voiture.

Un capteur de rêve est un object artisanal amérindien fabriqué pour chasser les cauchemars et les mauvais rêves. Selon la légende innue, pendant la nuit, les rêves aiment bien venir jouer avec la/les perle(s) au centre du capteur de rêve. Lorsque le soleil se lève, le bons rêves, plus malins que les mauvais, se réfugient dans les plumes, pour se cacher du soleil. Quand les premiers rayons du soleil percent à travers la fenêtre, les mauvais rêves sont brûlés sur la toile tissée, tandis que les bons rêves sont sauvés. Voilà pourquoi on dit qu'un capteur de rêve est plus efficace si on le place là où le soleil du matin pourra le toucher directement.

First, I wanna thank you for viewing my profile. I won't tell you I'm someone I'm not, or what I wish I'd be. I'll just tell you who I am.
I'd begin by saying I prefer to just be called Marie or Mary
I speak both French and English, so use whatever you prefer with me. I got basis in German and Spanish.
I'm a pretty complex and paradoxal person in many ways.
I consider myself both a social and anti-social person. I love to hang out with people and I need to share their company. But I also need my time alone. Since I don't share the same ideas than most people, I prefer being alone most of the time.
I'm a shy person. I generally don't talk much with people I don't know or in the presence of a lot of people. I can't stand not being listened, so I prefer shutting up in that case. When I get to know someone a lil, I can talk pretty much and be annoying. But I doesn't give my trust easily. It take me a lot of time to really trust someone and to let that person discover who I really am. Cause I don't think there's a lot of people who really are interested 'bout really knowing me. A really little number can say they know me.
A friend who do, already said about me 'She's someone that you meet, that you learn to know, that you appreciate and that you never forget'.
Ironically, I don't mind the weird looks of people I don't know. Actually, I love to get weird looks, it makes me laugh, in a way. It makes me feel different and I need that. I don't wanna be a god among mortals or any crappy stuff like that. I just don't wanna be another sheep among the herd. I don't wanna follow the herd. I wanna be and do things my own way.
I got one huge heart. I'm really generous, and I often do too much. It makes me happy to please those around me.
I wanna help people. Not like washing the dishes, but do somethin really special, that they couldn't do alone. This is why I've been sponsoring a boy, through World Vision, since december 2006. His name is Jamith Waldo Almanza Coca, he is 9 years old and he lives in Bolivia.
I'm a really emotive woman. I can cry really easily or some lil joy can make me jump up the ceiling. Some days, nothin can make me loose my smile, and some others, I get pissed, or sad really easily. I can get hurt easily over things that are really important for me, because I'm passionate. I often have down phases.
I got one hell of a temper. Generally not a bad one. I'm generally friendly and nice. I am a bit aggressive sometimes, but patient. But, don't freaking get me mad, cause it's not somethin funny to see. When I'm really angry, I kinna loose my mind.
I'm freaking stubborn. When I got somethin in the back of my mind, I doesn't have it in the ass. When I really want somethin, I go for it, no matter what.
I got leadership among my friends. I like to decide and to plan stuff, that, almost always goes as planned.
I'm not trying to be a humorist. I don't pretend I'm one. But I gotta admit I got a thing about humor. I got a sort of ambition to make people laugh. I really love to laugh myself and I love to be the funny one. I think I'm pretty funny, when I'm not with too much people that intimidate me, that is. Unfortunately, sometimes, people just doesn't understand the funny part.
I'm a quite greedy person. I love food and I love to eat, and I got the bad tendency to eat all the time. For naw, it doesn't do much, but I'm sure that when I'll grow old, I'll grow fat as well.
I consider myself an artist.
Ever since I can remember, I was drawing, building stuff with my hands. I've always loved to create things and pictures. I have a natural talent for that, I guess. My specialty is to reproduce pictures, images or photos, cause I got good eyes and a critical sense of observation.

In the last years, I've discovered myself a talent for writing (maybe someday, you'll read a book with my name written on it). I've proven myself a really passionate orator too (If I'm not forced to talk about somethin I hate). But I doesn't really like to talk in public and am too shy to use that talent much, though.
I'm a nature lover. I doesn't spend all my time outside (cause if I was, I probably wouldn't have that profile, hum ?) but I love to walk in the woods, to smell the fresh air, to feel the grass and sand on my feet, to hear the wind blowing in the leaves or the water running among the rocks. I love to smell the flowers or the fresh cut weed, to watch the sun rising or disappearing in the horizon. I love to watch the fiery of a thunderstorm or the shining of the moon and stars in the night sky. Most of all, I love animals, all kind of animals. I actually got two cats : Diamant and Sanata. To me, there's nothin as cute as baby animals.
I'm more active during evening and night, than during morning and day. Don't ask me anything in the morning. I have a really hard time getting my ass up every morning. My head's never clear and my mind's slow in the morning. It gets a lil better around 2 o'clock, but my best time to think and create is evening or night.
I have sleeping problems. I am a lil insomniac sometimes. I am able to sleep in the end, but it can takes 3 or 4 hours until I'm able to. I'm used not to sleep much, to go to work with only 4 or 5 hours of sleep, cause no matter how much I sleep, I always wake up tired. When I'm in vacations, I can sleep 10, 12 or even 14 hours in a row, and I'm still really tired when I wake up.
I have no particular talent in sport and I mostly hate them. I got a fragile nature, have no strenght at all and get breathless really easily. I still have a good endurance and am not the kind to complain about being tired.
So, most of all, I got my weaknesses and defaults, but I don't think I'm a bad person :).

Telephone, dentists, cigarettes and smoke, drugs, alcohol, bars, parties, the pink color...

Water, crossing over bridges, heights, spirits and aliens (when I think too much about it :P)...
Things that disgust me :
Black old bananas, rotten stuff, heart-opened operations on tv, vomit, lil crawling and sticky insects, oysters, really huge muscles...

Favorite color ?
I don't really have one. I love all colors, except pink. But these days, I'm falling for light blue. It's the color of life :) As for clothing, I prefer black.
Favorite food ?
Huum, brittanian pancakes would be my favorite food. I also love italian spaghetti, pizza, chicken pastas and Kraft Dinner :P
