Music, to me all sounds far too overly polished and produced these days. Overpriced and over analysed, music has evolved from a form of entertainment into a pseudo-religious experience in some extreme cases. It is no longer an art, it is a bastardisation of its former glory. Musicians used to be appointed by hierarchy in some cultures, now music is created by anyone and everyone... even spotty teenagers who have nothing better to do than sing about hatred and angst!
After many year's of playing any instrument I could get my hands on, whether well or badly! I have finally started doing exactly what I want with my music, and that is make it mine. After writing songs, recording albums and touring with bands such as K.I.A and Kreeper amongst others, and studying music, I have decided that for me to create the music I want to create, I cannot work with others extensively. Don't get me wrong, I loved all the ups and downs in my former bands, and will be forever grateful to ALL former band mates and people I have met through them, but ultimately I have found my idea's of what music should be differ from most others.
I believe music should be free to listen to, you shouldn't have to pay stupid fee's to listen to something you like to listen to! Everything these days seems to come at a price, so I wanted to make my music free to listen to, free to download and keep. I never intend to create music for profit. I like to keep things simple, my entire set up includes an old guitar I bought for £10, my laptop, a line 6 tone port and some music programmes ( cubase, reason and adobe audition).
People who have taken the time to listen to my music have compared it to elements of bands such as Explosions In The Sky , Isis , Red Sparowes , Godspeed You! Black Emperor! and plenty others in that suit. To be compared to these musicians is an amazing feeling for me! I love the music these guys make and urge you to check them all out!
