It combines the relaxed and honest energy of rock n´ roll, to the attitude of punk, the groove & ambition of Finnish progressive rock, spiced with a little sweat of funk, not forgetting the good stories and harmonic sensitiveness.
Presence shows you what music is all about; soulful playing, having a good time & giving people good vibes.The story of Presence began spring 2005, when old friends Junde & Janmu, who had been playing in various bands together before, decided to start a band that would present their vision of best music possible.
They asked Kaitsu, whose bassgrooves and taste in music Junde had often admired during the late-night jam sessions, to be the bass player. For a singer they only had one choice, Mertsa, a good friend from their AC/DC cover band Backseat Rhythm.
Already at the first session it was obvious that the line-up was ready & willing to start writing their own material and soon they released a seven song EP called Rock N´ Roll Resurrection that was recorded by Junde at their home studio.Since the presence and contribution of each member is crucial in the bands music, they simply decided to call themselves Presence. It enables the bands goal to make music without rules or limitations, music in which interaction, variation and improvisation are always present.Year 2006 was a good year for Presence. They played series of great gigs, signed a management/publishing deal with Emperor Agency/Best Records and recorded new songs for the upcoming EP called Connection Thing. (Will be released spring 2007)
