Los Angeles, CA - “COME EARLY MORNING,†the new Ashley Judd film featuring an original music score by 2005 Nashville Film Festival president ALAN BREWER, has been selected as a Dramatic Feature competition entry in the upcoming SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL. The film was one of only 16 U.S. dramatic competition features chosen out of over 3,000 film entries this year. *****
Alan Brewer was tapped as the film’s composer for his varied background that includes film scoring, record production, and music supervision. Brewer, who recently relocated to Los Angeles after a 7 year tenure in Nashville, is the immediate past president of the Nashville Film Festival, and a founding board member of FilmNashville and the Nashville Composers Association. *****
“Come Early Morning†was written and directed by JOEY LAUREN ADAMS (star of Big Daddy, Chasing Amy), centers around Judd's character (Lucy), a woman in her 30s who is beginning to come to terms with her selfish and prickly relatives, her own self-worth, and her search for meaning. The film, which also stars DIANE LADD, LAURA PREPON and STACY KEACH, contains songs from a number of legendary country artists and writers. *****
Brewer's career spans the genres of rock, country, and blues, with his music found in films such as "Tokyo Pop" (Carrie Hamilton), "The Secret Policeman's Private Parts" (Monty Python), "Playing For Keeps" (Marisa Tomei) and "The Burning" (Jason Alexander). In addition to his film music work with superstars such as Rick Wakeman, Pete Townshend, and Clarence Clemons, his record production is showcased in the recent chart releases by pop artist Keith Chagall (STM) and country band Cowboy Crush (Curb/Asylum Records).
