About Me

HIStory: Cris and I met on the internet of all places. It was destiny that brought us together. We met on October 20, 2001. Engaged on December 25, 2003 and married on June 4, 2005. life's been good. We are blessed to have found each other. (go ahead and barf now, lol)In July 2006 my husband and I went on vacation . When we came back his right foot became swollen and he was walking with a limp. Thought he twisted his foot. We went to the MD and they sent us for an xray, then blood tests and told me him he had Gout, plus an elevated BUN, Creatinine, and uric acid level. We were referred to a kidney specialist - it all happened so fast. After meeting the "first" kidney specialist aka Dr.Jerk, getting a CT,tons of labs, then a biopsy. The diagnosis was left on my cell phone (YES on the voice mail), it was Advanced FSGS .I don't think we've even felt it was a reality, until he had surgery on April 30th to have a fistula placed in his left forearm (prepre for dialysis).

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People with FSGS, CKD, Donors, Advocates, who want to talk and support each other. I am Cris's wife, advocate and I maintain this site. Im trying to make people aware that kidneys (other organs and tissue too) don't need to go to heaven, they need to go to other people.. With your signature on a donor card you can save a person's life,.Pleaase, Please, Please support organ donation....it gives others quality of life. You can't relate unless you go through this. Trust me, it never came into play in our lives, but now this is a priority, so much more is a priority, like helping others. Don't forget to sign your organ donor card and carry it with you.
