In 1970, I was born in Phoenix Arizona. I come from a family with a wide range of different artists. My grandmother, although she was only in my life briefly, left such a strong impression on me, that I have no doubt she helped create the foundation upon which I grew as an artist. She was 20 years old, at the dawn of the Modern Art Age, what has today translated into an Age of great imagination. As a youth seeking the extraordinary, realism became boring to me and in response spurred on my imagination impacting the world around me while changing the very environment I live in. It is as if, reality no longer satisfied me.At the same time I found myself admiring works from such great masters as Picasso, Dali, Kandinsky, Van Gogh and Monet, and started to see things in a much different light pushing my perspective past realism, and causing me to look deeper within myself and my own interpretations. As a result, I found myself capturing as much of the purity of a moment within the subjects I found most interesting. At first glance something might seem irrelevant but upon closer look it often becomes something very powerful. I think, as we strive to push the boundaries of the human race, so too does art expand those boundaries.Artist Jason Nye
