Anne Marie Collins

Anne Marie comes from a family of music. Her mom, Yvonne Collins is a Rhode Island Country Music Hall of Famer, along with multiple awards for Rhode Island Female Vocalist. Her grandfather, was a musician, and her aunts had their own radio show.Anne Marie has been a professional vocalist since the age of 14. Before singing professionally, she was part of the school chorus and drama club. She had the opportunity to perform the lead roles in several school plays which gave her some experience in performing before an audience.At the age of 14, she joined her first professional band, The Tennessee Tradition. It was a wonderful experience and those memories are very dear to her heart. She went on to sing with several other bands including her mother's band "Country Pipeline," which she was very proud to be part of. Her mom and step-dad retired in 1993 and moved to Las Vegas. It was then that Anne Marie decided to form her first band called "The Silver Dollar Band." Silver Dollar disbanned in 2000. From 2000 to 2005 she had formed another band called "Girls With Guitars," and from 2005 till 2008 Anne Marie had formed "The Anne Marie Collins Band," until she recently moved to Roanoke, Virginia where her husband John has been relocated with his job.The Anne Marie Collins Band consisted of Anne Marie, lead vocalist, Deane Sampson, lead guitar and lead vocals, Manny Escobar, steel guitar and vocals, Ken Persson, bass guitar and vocals and JD Foster, drums and vocals. The boys are still gigging and going strong. They are now called American Country or The AMC Band. Anne Marie will be coming home to visit her family and friends quite often and when she does, she'll be looking up the AMC Band to jam and have some fun! After all, they are all family too!Anne Marie is also a multi winning artists. She is 2005 & 2006 MCMAA Female Vocalist, 2006 People's Choice. Along with several other MCMAA awards, Anne Marie has won many Rhode Island awards in her career as well. Anne Marie has a catalog many tunes consisting of country, classic rock, blues, and oldies.Anne Marie's current CD "After All These Years" won 2007 MCMAA CD/Album of the Year. A new CD is in the works for late fall of 2009.Anne Marie has recently joined a band here in Virginia called The Southern Alliance Band! She is thrilled to be working with this great group of "southern gentlemen," and looking forward to playing all around the Southwestern Virginia area.
