THE OFFICIAL EUROBAND WEBSITE
The Euroband was established in march 2006 by the singers Friðrik Ómar and RegÃna Ósk, who both have contested in the finals of the icelandic Eurovision. They have had a succesful solo carrier and have released a couple of solo albums. RegÃna Ósk was the second runner up in the icelandic Eurovsion finals in 2006 with the song ÞÉR VIà HLIà (By your side) and Friðrik Ómar in third place with the song ÞAà SEM VERÃUR (Thinking of you). Friðrik also took part in Eurovison here in Iceland in 2007 and ended up in second place with the song ELDUR (Fire). The keyboard player of the Euroband, Grétar Örvarsson, is also well known to Eurovison fans. He sang along with Sigga Beinteins EITT LAG ENN (One more song) which ended up in forth place in Zagreb in 1990. He also composed the song NEI EÃA Jà which got seventh place in Malmö, Sweden in 1992.
The rest of the band, Kristján Grétarsson, Róbert Þórhallsson and Einar V. Scheving are all one of the best instrument players of Iceland with a lot of experience. Together we make great band which only plays songs which have competed in the Euroviosin Song Contest from 1956 until today. Every year more and more songs are released in Eurovision all over Europe -so there is plenty to play! The band aims not only to play here in Iceland, but also across Europe in countries where Eurovision is popular.
