My relationship with God is extremely important. I seek my best friend, who'll keep me company in my walk with Him. I'm a Christian and believe I still have much to learn. And I DO want to learn and grow... with her by my side... as we develop our relationships with each other AND God.
I'm quiet, well-educated, financially secure, generous, thoughtful, playful... passionate in dealing with others and that special someone (passion that is sometimes mistaken for stubbornness)... and enjoy slowing down when I can from the hectic pace of the business world by being fun and adventurous. I've been mistaken to be much younger than I really am (what a compliment!). Educated as an Electrical Engineer, I've discovered I'd rather work in Information Technology and Business Information Systems. My most recent job was as an Enterprise Systems Architect working as a government contractor for the US Air Force.
I'm also a military man... a Major... retired early from the active duty US Air Force in 1996... but came back into the US Air Force Reserve after the horrific events of 9/11 because I still wanted to serve. My partner must understand that patriotic fiber in me... the need and desire to serve when our nation calls. Although I was born on a US Air Force base overseas, I have more red, white, and blue in my blood than others who have nothing better to do than criticize those that defend their freedoms.
My four boys are a significant part of my life (even though I don't see them as often as I wish I could because they've already spread their wings and ventured out into the world on their own)... and so is the rest of my family. I have faith I'll find a mate whose family I can grow to be a part of, too.
I’m a loving person, who passionately shows that love to the people close to me. I guess of the five love languages ( click to learn more ), mine is of the type where I tend to express love tangibly. I enjoy giving little gifts or doing simple things to express my love, especially to the special lady that has unwittingly captured my heart. I also enjoy spending as much time with her as she needs so she can feel secure with our relationship. And I often tell her that I love her... who knows how long we'll be around to explicitly let the other know our feelings for each other?
At this stage of my life, I don't believe in maintaining any animosity towards anyone, even though they may have crossed me or hurt me in the past. After all, who suffers in the long run if I stay angry at and hateful towards someone? ME , because that anger will consume me and prevent me from becoming the loving individual God wants me to be. One of my favorite verses in the bible is "Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with Love." ~ 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 .
What I do for fun:
I enjoy all types of dancing, from hip-hop to line dancing to ballroom... I'm not afraid to be the center of attention on the dance floor because, frankly, I'm a pretty good dancer all around. And, just so she is comfortable, I'd love to take her to ballroom dancing classes. I also enjoy dining out as a prelude to a quiet night at the movies.
I try to plan yearly family outings and trips. It's tough though because all my kids already have schedules vastly different from mine. We can never seem to have a common vacation schedule where all are available to spend a relatively decent amount of time together...
