About Me

My friend Lori-convinced me to do this-So here it goes...!!My husband and I own and operate a small restaurant in a very small town. We have two great children,who sometimes confuse and anger us,but always amaze us! I also buy and sell purses on Ebay-to support my bad habits!(buying LV purses). We have a large extended family here in the U.S. and in Greece. We fight,argue and scream,but all in the name of love! We don't get to visit out Greek family,as often asI would like...but hopefully someday we will retire there.I was born and raised in the Midwest,but have lived in Alabama most of my adult life and I love it! There is nothing like the South!(sorry land of lincoln). The heat, great college football(WAR EAGLE),barbeque,music,and the very good manners of the old south! All is well in Alabama!

People I would like to meet...dead or living? Fidel Castro(1959)-he looked so good in those combat fatigues and Cuban cigar! Joe Namath...he is the reason I started watching football,back in 1969! Sammy Sosa-to tell him how much my mother adored him! Dolly Parton-so my daughter could meet her. Tom Waits,Nick Cave,Keith Richards, Leonard Cohen,Bob Dylan and Judy Collins,so I could tell them how much they influenced my son's music!(and so he could meet them). David Chase(producer/writer of The Sopranos-so I could tell him how lousy the series finale was!!!!And finally GOD-I have a whole lot of questions!!!!

Music:

I can't do an all time,number 1 favorite,but here are the best for me! Temptations,Tom Waits(writes the best damn lyrics),Beatles(remnants of my childhood),Marvin Gaye,Robert Johnson,Elvis,Charlie Parker,Billie Holiday,Bruce Springstein,Rolling Stones,Aretha Franklin, and when I am really down-The Jackson 5(with very young,and almost normal Micheal Jackson!)

Movies:

Schindler's List,Sophie's Choice,Wuthering Heights(Merle Oberon and Laurence Olivier), Butterfield 8,Arsenic and Old Lace,Harvey,The Quiet Man,Fiddler on the Roof,Cabaret and The Wizard of Oz.

Television:

Sopranos(USED TO BE!!),The Tudors,History Channel,ER,ETV-True Hollywood Story( I am addicted to this trash)and finally-John from Cincinatti-I think this is a great new show!

Books:

Any History-Right now- I am reading the INFORMANT-about Tommy Rowe,who was a KKK member and F.B.I. informant-involved in the 16th Avenue Baptist Church bombing and the killing of Viola Luizo-a civil right worker,gunned down in Mississippi.

Heroes:

My grandfather-who fought against the Communist in Greece and paid for it with his life. My mother,who came to this country as an immigrant and became a proud U.S. citizen and worked her ass off for her family. My father,who despite his problems,showed me so much love,and made me feel like I was the smartest kid in the world! And my children,who help me everyday in ways they will never know. And finally my husband,who walks the walk everyday to take care of his family and is the absolutely smartest person I have ever met!!
