About Me

Doug MacEachern has been playing music ever since he got his first guitar from Santa Claus (yeah the heavy dude that wore the red suit and drank his Dads beer on Christmas eve). For years he would sit in his room and create music (mostly noise for the first few years) playing along to his favourites. It was all country for the longest time, until he heard the songs of the Eagles. The sweet harmonies and musicianship impressed him and he started to play his little heart out to them. Playing in a number of bands ranging from Rock, country, top 40 cover music and many more, he developed a guitar playing and singing style that stays with him to this day. Years and life have given Doug the understanding and yearning to write songs so that he can tell his story and what he sees in his travels along this path we call life. After spending just over 2 decades in the corporate world as an executive recruiter and Manager of a telecom company, Doug decided to finally follow his passion for music. Having never lost his love for music, although he did stop playing for 11 years, he finally started hitting the music scene in Kitchener-Waterloo Ontario, and saw what was there. Soon he was at local jams, playing guitar and bass and joined up with a local Blues artist by the name of James O'Brien. Playing bass with James and doing shows around the area, soon James was recording his first Solo, original album. Doug did all the bass tracks on this album and it was recently released in the summer of 2007. Doug was soon getting other studio work with more local artists and quickly established himself as a live and studio bass player and singer. In 2006, Doug met up with an artist by the name of Kris Miles who was releasing his second album and joined Kris for his live shows supporting the new album. Doug has had print media, live to air radio and many many live concert and gigs since he has hit the scene. His heart was still into songwriting and wanting to record his own solo album of songs he has written over the years. That is where he is at now. The album that he is recording currently will have 10 original works on it and some of the finest players in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. They are introspective and soul searching songs that most people can relate to and have a country/country rock flavour to them. You can quite often see Doug on the music scene with pieces of paper in his pocket and asking to borrow a pen as a new song hits him. His love of song writing wont stop.Look for Dougs first solo, original album to be released in late fall of 2007. The album will be called "Forward". It is called "Forward" as that is the direction he is moving.Enjoy
