NEWS AND UPCOMING SHOWS
NEW
Description: So Rich, Nathan and James (x2) got together at Easter and put down this rough recording of a new song using the family computer mic. This is intended as a taste of the sumptuous musical adventure this summer shall be.
43pShort will be writing and recording new songs, and playing gigs. You know... all that stuff bands tend to be preoccupied with.

About 43pShort ___________________________________________________
So Forty Three Pence Short are this load of crazy funky fella's out to bring some feel good party tunes to Barrow's cold winter nights and (hopefully) gorgeous summer days.
Starting out as little more than something to do for a lunch hour jammin' in the practice room, 43p spent a few months messing around enjoying the general noise. Towards the end of the 2007 summer term we played our first gig supporting the legendary Switch at the queens, and it was one of the most enjoyable things we've ever done.
Following this 43p spent the summer playing the Cav occasionally with varying lineups, sticking to the same catchy covers that we'd learnt for the queens. We then went on to play a sort of mini tour of The Queens, Healeys and the notorious disaster that was the King Alfred. Through this we had great support from Small Town Heroes and Deadlokk
Starting to get sick of our own covers, we began writing a bit, and pretty much out of nowhere got offered the chance to play @ The Canteen on New Years Eve by The Mooncats. This was another strong contender for most enjoyable gig ever, fantastic atmosphere rounded off by a mental performance by those crazy cats.
Off the back of the New Years eve gig, we spent 2008 recording with Col at the Coachouse Studio, Ford Park, Ulverston. Can most certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a demo recording.
The summer of 2008 has seen the kind of gigs thought we'd ever get to, after starting this band for nothing more than a pass-time at college. Playing FurnessFest, Walney Bridge, and Gig in the Garden has been truly epic and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
At the moment we're all away during various things - University, sailing the ocean, travelling... you know... those sorts... but we'll all be back over Summer working hard on new songs and bring back the good old party hard days of 43p.
For now, take care, many thanks, party hard and enjoy the sun while it's here!
