- NEW NOISE PROJECT -
a music group with history
Being in the mood to become rockstars New Noise Project founded themselves in the city of Voelklingen/Saarland, Germany in 1992. Soon it was obvious who took over the roles in a band. Singer Daniel Badendieck was more a shouter than a singer. Drummer Thomas Godel was hitting hard old buckets and more. Christian Ochs aka. OXA used his first guitar, a Christmas gift, playing the chords in his very personal way. The NEW NOISE PROJECT was born!
After a short while the first bass player joined the band. Never having learned to play bass guitar but commited with his heart and soul… Daniel Eich enriched the band with his loosens kind and lots of heartblood. Also very soon there was a second guitar, Michael Heib joined the role of the rhythm guitar player, well, what you might call rhythm…
Having only one singer in the band soon became boring, so singer Tim Maas joined the band. With him as a band member shouting suddenly made sense and Daniel took care of the melodic parts.
Firmly decided to conquer the stages of this world the first songs were written quickly and the time for the band’s first show moved closer. April, 16th, 1994 was the date: first official show, first stage fright and for the first time this kind of rock star feeling. After several more gigs with the members mentioned above life’s reality claimed concessions and so Michael, Daniel Eich and Tim left the band.
Soon it became obvious for the remaining band members that it could not be over. In 1994 Alex Klein and in 1995 Volker Fischer became members of the band. Alex took on the part of the rhythm guitar player while Volker played bass guitar. Even in the early days the band had learned to reach their aims with lots of fun but also with hard work.In 1995 the first NNP-record was planned.
Thanks to the Saarbruecken-based record label Caesars Records the band’s first hits were published. In March 1996 Fun not respect was released and attracted attention in the local music scene. The band’s guidance motive having fun with what one is doing even inspired faithful fans and supporters from the early days. A big success became their first tour with the Swedish bands FUDGE WAX and VENEREA. They played various gigs in Germany and adjacent countries.
Also the band’s second record was released on Caesars Records. Entitled Branded made visible the band’s progress in sophisticated songwriting and a more and more growing number of supporters. In 1997 the second tour was scheduled with the band BAD HABITS. Unfortunately it became Volker’s farewell tour. Because of personal reasons he decided to leave the band and first left a big gap… Thanks to Christian Pfeiffer aka. Fuchel this gap was closed and the NEW NOISE PROJECT lived on. Again with BAD HABITS, by now having become quite close friends, a new tour took place in Spring of 1998 followed by several more shows in their home area and the song writing for the third record was in full progress.
In 1999 singer Daniel got cancer. Another setback for the five friends but the fight against cancer was won because of being backed up by good friends and the heart filled with music.
So in October 2000 again the motto was….THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN!
They proceeded where they had stopped and were rocking more conscious and intensive than ever. Songs for the third record were at hand, then revised and released. After some time in the studio and backed up by a new record label The Difficulty of Definition was published on Dead Serious Recordings.
April 2002, Saarbruecken, 150 people in a room way to small and tons of punkrock.
Several more shows on the weekend followed with bands gotten used to and NEW NOISE PROJECT leveled their way to the boards those the world mean.
The for the time being last chapter was written in October 2002. Because of a story written by life itself the band split up during that time. One thought to go on without friendship, passion and love for music.
Now it is 2007 and it seems to be the year filled with punkrock. Because of a good friend’s efforts the five joined together again, forgot about the past and realized something had never stopped: the love for music and for each other. During the first rehearsal everyone realized that the fire was still burning. After a five year obligation break NEW NOISE PROJECT were working on their comeback. Old songs are being rehearsed and being back onto a stage should not be dream.
Based on the experience every single band member made in other groups like BLEED INTO ONE, CAPTAINS DINNER, REMINDER, THE THIRD TRIAL the old songs now sound different, more refreshing, mature and more powerful than ever.
Hope is that the early day supporters and fans without whom the band would not have developed the way it did will remember the NEW NOISE PROJECT and probably 2007 will read THE BOYS AE BACK IN TOWN – AGAIN!
The band’s motto was revived and NEW NOISE PROJECT again means: FUN NOT RESPECT!
