My Interests

Theatre is my passion, but sadly that dream has not yet been realized to its full potential...There's not much to do on LI but I still like a cliched round of mini golf or bowling...I'm terrible at sports but I love to play and make a complete fool of myself...I also play an occasional game of Texas Hold 'Em, ...I love NYC but oddly enough, I don't go there all that often...I like to go to the movies, beaches, parks, playgrounds and anywhere I can hang out with wonderful people, it should be the people that improve the atmosphere, not the other way around. I've had meaningful conversations at the top of Masada in Israel, and I've also had them in my Pontiac Sunfire...On that note, I really do have a deep appreciation for nature, there is so much beauty around us, but we're so busy with our lives that we just don't stop to take the time to appreciate it, me included... I like to try new things. Basically I'll give anything a shot once, and if I like it, I'll keep doing it til I don't like it...If I could give one piece of advice to anyone it would be "Talk to everyone". You never know who you will meet, strangers that I have just happened to introduce myself to have become dear friends, ones who have changed my life...Many people have described me as unique. I'm not sure how they all meant it, but I take it as a compliment. As Bernadette Peters once said "You gotta be original, because if you're like someone else, what do they need you for?"At times I can appear more intelligent than I am and other times, I am more intelligent than I appear to be. But intellect isn't everything, wisdom is infinitely more valuable...something I still yearn for, and probably always willYou can see that it's hard for me to sit still, yet I still can be content with spending a night cuddling with the right person, just watching TV. Sometimes it doesn't matter what you're doing, it matters who you're doing it with. And yes, I ended that sentence with a preposition.

I'd like to meet:

Interesting people who are fun and aren't pretentious. Genuine people are so hard to find...trust me. And I love to laugh so anyone who can make me laught til it hurts is alright in my book ;o) But be forewarned, I can have a short attention span when bored, so keep me engaged, or lose me to my daydreams.

Music:

Most Broadway musicals, Green Day, The All American Rejects, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Reel Big Fish, Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Howie Day, 80's classics, Joni Mitchell, Dar Williams, Alanis Morissette, Matchbox 20, Dave Matthews Band, Our Lady Peace, Gin Blossoms, Rockapella, Guster, Taking Back Sunday, Weezer, I'm sure I'm forgetting a ton...Honestly, for most of my life I was a complete Broadway geek, so now I'm trying to branch out and listen to alot of different stuff, but music has and will always be a huge part of my life...Got any suggestions? I'm all ears :o)

Movies:

Here's where it gets tough, I'm my own Blockbuster. So in no particular order: Saving Private Ryan, Dead Poet Society, Benny and Joon, Spaceballs, The Incredibles, LOtR Trilogy, Harry Potter Whatevergy, American Pie, Eurotrip, Young Frankenstein, The Mummy, Love Actually, Spiderman 1 &2, Wet Hot American Summer, Ocean's 11, Pirates of the Caribbean, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Old School, Van Wilder, The Count of Monte Cristo..and I'm sure a ton more. Yeah, I used to have a lot more time on my hands

Television:

Once I'm up and running, I don't have much time for TV and I can't STAND most reality shows, which has seemed to dominate most stations. But are here are some that I still love to watch when I get the chance: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Friends, Family Guy, (Grey's Anatomy, Gilmore Girls, House M.D., Law and Order:SVU are the 4 that I can NOT miss, even if I have to tape them) Sex and the City, Will and Grace, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report

Books:

I used to read all the time. I originally had 20/20 vision, but I ruined it because when I was little, after my parents had turned out the lights, I used to hide under my quilt with a little flashlight and read until I fell asleep. Mom and Dad finally became aware of this and got me a Crayola bendy lamp, but it was too late...Anyway, I digress. At least when I was matriculating Stony Brook I was able to make time to read Shakespeare, Moliere, Tennessee Williams, George Bernard Shaw, and several other manuscripts. Beyond academic reading (which I vastly enjoyed) I read all the Harry Potters (that's right, I'm as accomplished as a 6th grader and even dipped back into my childhood favorite, Laura Ingalls Wilder. When I was an avid reader any good mystery or crime thriller would do. Ok, that story was shameful, I'm gonna go pretend to read.
