“Junkyard Scientists have unearthed the perfect floor-filling equation. Seriously one of the best bands I’ve had on the show.†- Linda Serck, BBC Berkshire
"Junkyard Scientists' gigs aren't about the stage, they're about the dancefloor!"
- James Milloy, musflash TV
"Junkyard Scientists manage to add a whole new history and vitality to funk music, twisting it into a fresh new Hip Hop bitten beast. The tunes are all carefully manipulated, yet delivered with such verve and musical desire that heart and head can't help but agree. Junkyard Scientists - better than sex and nothing like Lenny Kravitz."
- Luisa Garcia, Blah Blah Magazine
"Although heavily influenced by soul and funk pioneers [Junkyard Scientists] are far from a retro-themed band 'recreating' sounds from their predecessors, and are as much influenced by contemporary artists...which has a healthy effect on their music. The Junkyard journey will be an enjoyable one to watch grow through their future releases and already staggeringly creative live performances."
- Liberation Frequency Magazine

Junkyard Scientists are a soul, funk, rock & hip-hop inspired outfit like nothing else around. Formed in Reading and London in 2007 by a collective of musicians, producers and event organisers, the Junkyard sound is influenced by Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson and Jamiroquai.
The group started out by running their own independent live music residency at FairTrade venue; The Global Cafe, and went on to release their self-titled, 7 track debut EP at Zavvi Megastore in Reading with an in-store launch gig. Since then they have gone on to support acts like Portico Quartet, Get Cape.Wear Cape.Fly and James Taylor Quartet as well as play respected venues like The Camden Jazz Cafe, The Troubadour and Concorde 2.
Airplay by Eddie Piller (Acid Jazz Records) on Q Radio and BBC Radio 6’s Tom Robinson along with live performances on BBC Radio Berkshire and a feature in the 'What's Hot' section of the iTunes store has seen the popularity of the ‘Junkyard Scientists EP’ grow and the band are recording new material this year.
Junkyard Scientists joined the Raison D’Etre Music Collective in late 2008 ( “The London Clubbing phenomenon †- Time Out) and are now looking for a suitable manager or booking agent after recently securing a non-exclusive publishing deal through Boosey & Hawkes.
