Shadows Spell is the new musical journey started by guitarist Aldo Lonobile (Secret Sphere, Civilization One) , Vocalist Nils K Rue (Pagans Mind, Eidolon, X-World / 5) and Drummer Daniel Flores (Mind's Eye and many many more...this guy record soooo many records)!
We have to come back to 2003 to look to the roots of the band, when Aldo and Nils met each other in USA during the ProgPower festival in Atlanta. They became friends and left each other with promise of a new band together. Nils is a well known singer in the scene with a very emotional, and powerful voice close to Midnight and Geoff Tate with a lot of personality which is able to create incredible melodies. You can listen his talents by listening to the Prog Gods Pagans Mind from Norway and to the latest Eidolon release (The band with the Drover brothers, and current members of Megadeth). Aldo is an italian appreciated and talented guitarist, knows for his work in the Italian Power metal masters Secret Sphere, and lately with the new band formed with the Ex- Firewind singer Chity Somapala called Civilization One. In 2005 Daniel, from the Swedsh talented band Mind's Eye, recorded the fourth album of Aldo's main band Secret Sphere "Heart & Anger", and another strong friendship was forged when Aldo showed to Daniel the material he composed for Shadows Spell he was happy to join the band. Daniel has been voted as one of the best drummer in the melodic metal site and he recorded something like 40 albums!!!! After that the band needed a bass player , found later in Andy Buratto already with Secret Sphere, and a secure player for the bump that Shadows Spell need!
Musically the guys play a very emotional rock-metal in the vein of the legends like Queensryche and Crimson Glory, with a special eye to the melodies and to the solid rhythm parts.
So this should be the year for the first Spell!!!
