About Me

Rowley

Joe was born and bred in Stafford, England. He is 20 and has been producing house/tech-house/electro since 2003. He currently lives in Leeds and attends Leeds College of Music, where he is studying Music Production.
Since first being introduced to dance music at a very young age, it has been a large part of his life. His first dabbling with production occurred in 2000 when he was merely 13 years old, this took the form of creating his own mash-ups for his friends using Sony Acid Pro. In 2002, whilst on holiday with his family, he picked up a pair of second hand decks and a mixer, it was from here that he passion for dance music accelerated an an incredible pace. Within a year of getting his first decks he began DJing at bars in his native Stafford each week.
Joe’s production properly began with the discovery of Propellorhead’s Reason, on which he began to produce House music, he first ever production being a remix of New Order’s Blue Monday. It was at this point that he began a Music Technology National Diploma course at his local college. From this course Joe’s production knowledge took a huge step forward. He was top of his class, which lead him to be offered a place to study at Leeds College of Music on the only Music Production degree in the country.
In May 2007 Joe won the Mixmag and Sony Vaio Big Tune Competition with his tune "Duquesne". He was interviewed and featured in the June 2007 copy of Mixmag. In January 2008 Joe had six of his tracks signed to 1980 Recordings to be released in summer 2008 as two singles and a four track EP.
Joe now DJ’s at club and bar nights in and around Leeds.
