smgsap is shea M gauer and scott A peterson. we've been recording and playing live together for over 9 years. we have a couple cdr recordings available and most recently a full length cdr release on stunned records titled "Chrysalis Cycles" - as well as a track on the recent thumbprint press release "Trogotronic Compilation".
we also put on live shows with local and touring bands under the name Parabolic Productions. currently parabolic is presenting film and music every third thursday of the month at {open} in long beach.
shea is the co-owner/operator and curator of { open } - a local long beach bookstore / venue / gallery located on 4th street. the store used to be located downtown in the east village arts district and recently moved to 4th street. in his imaginary spare time he contributes illustrations and editorial graphics for numerous local publications and archives his work at ontheroughseesofmyeyes.blogspot.com. shea is also a member of FLOOD, a local artist collective responsible for downtown long beach's annual SoundWalk event as well as many other installations and performances. he's got some weird shit going on with monkeys and crows.
scott is a graphic artist living in long beach. he used to publish magazines sometimes too (now he publishes jack shit). scott was a member of FLOOD and helped out with the first few SoundWalk events and is currently involved in creating the poster for this year's event (2008).
smgsap is also part of an ensemble group with glenn bach called Intense Situations of Peril (isop) and has performed live and recorded numerous times.
