Lieutenant Israel Murray Rothblatt
May 26th, 1934 - December 22, 2008
The New Jersey SPCA has lost one of its own. Lt. Murray Rothblatt was a dedicated and caring Humane Police Officer whose selfless service protected countless animals in New Jersey from needless suffering. He will be missed.
The New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals advocates for the animals of New Jersey by advancing their welfare, promoting their interests, and fostering the human-animal bond through programs, education, and service. The New Jersey SPCA is committed to:

Eliminating overpopulation of animals through aggressive spaying/ neutering and education;
Educating the public regarding responsible pet ownership and respect for animal life;
Securing basic medical services for animals in need;
Reducing cruelty through stronger ordinances, investigations, partnerships, and education.
