Myspace Backgrounds Brought up in a family of musicians, Simon spent his youth in «jam sessions» with his father. He played violin and mandoline until the time he was enough ....tall....to play his dad's guitar, at about 9 years old. At 14, with four of his friends in St-Côme, he formed the group «Cinqôme Band». From the outset, the group gave professional concerts across Québec. At 17, Simon began his first year in the music program at the Cégep régional de Lanaudière in Joliette Québec studying jazz guitar as his field of concentration. The adventure continued until April 2006 when he graduate of UQAM University's jazz/pop program.During his career, Simon played with many artists of different musical backgrouds. From folk to rock through traditional, jazz and pop. He has performed alongside Le vent du nord, La Vesse de Loup, Les Matapins (Mathieu Gratton), Hommage au Aînés, Line Cadieux, Kharma, Luc Cousineau, Raoul Dugay and many more. He also toured Switzerland, Spain, France ,Sweden and the United States . He also played for the dance ensemble «Les Petits Pas Jacadiens». He was also the third prize recipient of the guitar award at the «Grand Prix de guitare de Montréal» and the laureate of »La Bourse d’excellence Oliver Jones Spectra»for jazz performance. He just join the folk/jazz/celtic band The McDades this summer. Myspace Backgrounds Now at 25, Simon is a much coveted studio and stage musician. He also has to his credits; Jingle T.V., albums, music reviews (part of a house band) for variety shows, album scripts, etc. His talent and musicality are still to be discovered.
