With the UK grime scene evolving everyday and even more artists showing their skills on places like Channel U, MTV Base, MySpace and many more, it was time for this kid to blast on the scene.
Bradley Douglin aka T.Kid, a 15 year old lyricist and MC from the South East, is making his mark on the UK scene. Influenced by the likes of Lil Wayne, Asher D, S.A.S Eurogang and Roadside Gees, his lyrics are fresh and original and unlike anyone else out there. He started his musical career as part of the MCing quartet DWF (Don’t Watch Face). Originally situated in Sussex, the four guys wrote and recorded their own songs about their life experiences living in a small town. They had to compete against other local MC’s and due to the pressure of breaking into the scene the group ended. The three other members attempted to make it on their own but none were as successful as T.Kid.
T.Kid or Turbulent Kid in full began writing bars for himself in April 2007 then spraying on tracks in May 2007. By November 2007 he had released his first promo, ‘This is what you called Music. Vol. 1’. Songs from the promo such as Hometown, I’m coming to the top and Taking it to another level were originally introduced on T.Kids MySpace page www.myspace.com/tkid2k8 and let the world know how what the promo had in store for its forthcoming listeners.
Now T.Kid is starting again, with a whole new promo for 2008. After doing a selection of sets on the digital radio station Mixingradio.com at Mixing Records in Croydon, T.Kid had the chance to work with some other aspiring MC’s like L.kid, Pressure, Nitro, Kingz, DJ Lost and Shiverz. With a bit of exposure, T.Kids slight fan base grew and he has since been approached by a number of artists, musicians and producers to collaborate with on his new promo. Due for release at the end of May, this year’s promo is going to be bigger and better than ever.
