Joe Blair F.D.S. Music

Joel Lashley, known to friends and family as Joe Blair F.D.S. (From Da Square) grew up on the North Side of Queens, the hometown of some of the hottest emerging and now established hip hop artists in the rap game to date. He first fell in love with music while listening to his older brothers play the records of musical greats such as Micheal Jackson, Prince, Phil Collins, and the late great Bob Marley. He later developed a liking for musical talents of such hip hop artists like Big Daddy Kane, LL Cool J, Kool G. Rap, Mobb Deep, and many others. His diverse appetite for music allows Joe Blair to now comfortably express himself on top of any musical sound. While attending August Martin High School, Joe Blair was a star football player who befriended two other students named Lloyd Banks and Vic Damone, who shared the same love and enthusiasm for music as he did. He now admits at the time his main focus was on football, however he never missed a rap battle in the lunch room. After his high school days were behind him Joe started to lose focus on his dreams and started mixing with a rough crowd. He would soon himself on the wrong side of the law facing a sentence of 1-3 yrs. After being sentenced to 19 months, Joe Blair utilized that time to re-introduce himself to the dreams he never forgot, especially when he was put in the solitary confinement for an extended period of time. Upon his release Joe Blair was drawn back into the street life, although his love for the music remained. He was encouraged by his childhood friend and fellow rapper Pretty Black to make music his priority. Through their street buzz and neighborhood affiliations, they were introduced to Stack Bundles and Jim Jones. In a tragic turn of events, Pretty Black was gunned down and a sense of urgency ensued to make his dream a reality. Joe was determined to realize his dream and had the support of the community behind him, specifically his friend Winslow. He saw Joe's drive and perseverance and knew Juelz Santana would recognize his talent and take his career to unreachable heights.
