About Me

Themba Ndlovu is a singer/musician from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe living in Zurich, Switzerland. He has graced many a stage in all four corners of the world, as a singer or as a bassist. His is a marvellous gospel singer whose journey began way back in Mzilikazi, a suburb of Bulawayo in Zimbabwe. His father was a Baptist pastor and choirmaster. He started his first band at high school: Marist Brothers College in Kwe Kwe (Que Que) in the 70's. His first performance as a professional was in Arlington, Texas (1977) and then later on in Thessaloniki, Greece (1978). He was based in Germany for a long time (1978-1991). His most memorable song is "Meet Me in Zimbabwe" which was penned by his wife Jabu, a South African songstress with whom he had the group Children of Nandi. This song was one of Zimbabwe's most successful songs of all time. He has produced and co-produced and number of artists including Papa Curvin, Children of Nandi, Amakhosi, Shake the Tree, Zé Soares, to name some. His has been involved in nurturing and producing his 3 daughters who have girl-band "DAY BY DAY", a lead by his oldest daughter, Nongoma (19) together with Thembi (15) and Nandi (13) who are now based in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is working on his new album, a Di Gong/Kwaito project with deep roots. He conducts workshops in schools and leads a gospel choir in Wollishofen, a suburb of Zurich where he lived for the last 10 years.
